Scientific Software Tools Announces Seven New Versions of the DriverLINX™
Data-Acquisition Drivers for Windows 95/98 and Windows NT®
MEDIA, PA November 13, 1999 - Scientific Software Tools, Inc. (SST) today announced seven new products in its
DriverLINX series of data-acquisition drivers for Windows
95/98 and Windows NT. DriverLINX now supports the following data-acquisition
hardware board series from Keithley Instruments KPCI-1800, KPCI-PIO,
KPCI-3107/8, KPCI-3100, DDA 8/16, DAS 800, and DAS TC/B.
DriverLINX provides developers of custom data-acquisition applications a
standardized, application programming interface (API) to over 100
data-acquisition services. These services create foreground and background tasks
for analog I/O, digital I/O, and time and frequency measurements. Applications
communicate with DriverLINX through a C/C++ or ActiveX interface.
The new DriverLINX products maintain the same API as prior versions,
providing the user with maximum flexibility. According to SST's Director of
Research and Development, Roy E. Furman, M.D., Ph.D., "Since DriverLINX is
hardware and operating system independent, users can easily move their Windows
3.1, Windows 95/98 and Windows NT applications to the latest Keithley Metrabyte
hardware without costly rewrites".
To help developers quickly learn the capabilities of DriverLINX, extensive
C++, Visual Basic, and Delphi source code example programs are included. To
speed application development, DriverLINX includes services to display dialog
boxes for configuration management, a context-sensitive on-line help facility,
and extensive error-checking and reporting capabilities.
System requirements for running DriverLINX include an Intel or compatible
486DX or higher, 8 MB memory (Windows 95/98); 16 MB memory (Windows NT),
Microsoft Windows 95/98 or Windows NT 4.0 or higher, and a supported Keithley
Metrabyte data acquisition hardware board.
These new versions are available and are included at no cost upon purchase of
each supported Keithley data-acquisition board.
