Scientific Software Tools Announces New Versions of the DriverLINX®
Data-Acquisition Drivers for Windows 95/98 and Windows NT®
MEDIA, PA March 20, 2000 - Scientific Software Tools, Inc. (SST) today announced two new products in its
DriverLINX series of data-acquisition drivers for Windows 95/98 and Windows NT.
DriverLINX now supports the following data-acquisition hardware boards from
Keithley Instruments the KPCI-3140 counter/timer board and the KPCI-3160
parallel digital I/O board.
DriverLINX provides developers of custom data-acquisition applications a
standardized, application programming interface (API) to over 100
data-acquisition services. These services create foreground and background tasks
for analog I/O, digital I/O, and time and frequency measurements. Applications
communicate with DriverLINX through a C/C++ or ActiveX interface.
The new DriverLINX products maintain the same API as prior versions,
providing the user with maximum flexibility. According to SST 's Director of Research and Development, Roy
E. Furman, M.D., Ph.D., "Since DriverLINX is hardware and operating system
independent, users can easily move their Windows 3.1, Windows 95/98 and Windows
NT counter/timer and digital I/O applications to Keithley's new KPCI-3140 &
KPCI-3160 hardware without costly rewrites".
To help developers quickly learn the capabilities of DriverLINX, extensive
C++, Visual Basic, and Delphi source code example programs are included. To
speed application development, DriverLINX includes services to display dialog
boxes for configuration management, a context-sensitive on-line help facility,
and extensive error-checking and reporting capabilities.
System requirements for running DriverLINX include an Intel or compatible
486DX or higher, 8 MB memory (Windows 95/98); 16 MB memory (Windows NT),
Microsoft Windows 95/98 or Windows NT 4.0 or higher, and a supported Keithley
Metrabyte data acquisition hardware board.
These new versions are available and are included at no cost upon purchase of
each supported Keithley data-acquisition board.
SST specializes in developing award-winning scientific and engineering
